The seminar room at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine was filled with students and staff from all research areas for Student Presentation Day 2024 on the 14th of May.
Well done to everyone who presented and many thanks to the postdoctoral researchers who chaired the sessions throughout the day. Senior academics in attendance said the quality of science presented by the PhD students was outstanding.
To select the finalists for the Ita Askonas Medal, a panel of judges scored the talks on the quality of the data, impact on the field and quality of presentation. The shortlisted students will present again at WIMM Day on the 20th of June for a chance to win a £500 prize.
Congratulations to the three students who have been shortlisted for the Ita Askonas Medal!
