Cycling
There are a vast number of cycle routes that serve the John Radcliffe Hospital; advice can be found on the Oxford City Council website.
By Car
Car parking in and around the hospital is extremely limited and we do not advise trying to park your car at the hospital. A copy of the JR site map is available to download, with the car park locations indicated. Oxford has three park and ride sites that directly serve the John Radcliffe Hospital: Thornhill and Oxford Parkway (700 bus service) and Redbridge (cityX3 or X32 bus services)
Members of staff who have a genuine need to use their car to travel to work can apply for a parking permit. Please contact the parking office at the John Radcliffe Hospital for more information.
By Bus/coach
There are many buses and coaches that travel to the centre of Oxford. From central Oxford, the best routes to the JR Hospital are the cityX3/ X32/ ST2 or the 10. Some services go through central Headington, which is a 10 minute walk from the JR Hospital, such as the 8 or 280. From London, the Oxford Tube bus service goes to Headington.
BY RAIL
Oxford has two train stations. Oxford Station is in the town centre and services from London (Paddington), Birmingham, Edinburgh and many other cities arrive throughout the day; more information is available through the national rail website. To travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital from Oxford Train Station please use the 14 or 280 bus services. Alternatively, taxis can be hired outside the station or you can phone and book one of the Oxford City Council-approved taxi operators.
Oxford Parkway has a direct service to Bicester and London Marylebone and is located next to a Park and Ride. To travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital, please use the 700 bus.
By PLANE
