Where to find us
Cycling
There are a vast number of cycle routes that serve the John Radcliffe Hospital; the Oxfordshire County Council website has a map of the routes available.
By Car
Car parking in and around the hospital is extremely limited and we do not advise trying to park your car at the hospital. A copy of the JR site map is available to download, with the car park locations indicated. Oxford has two park and ride sites that serve the John Radcliffe Hospital, Water Eaton (700 bus service) and Thornhill (800 bus service).
Members of staff who have a genuine need to use their car to travel to work can apply for a parking permit. Please contact the parking office at the John Radcliffe Hospital for more information.
By Bus/coach
There are many buses and coaches that travel to the centre of Oxford. From central Oxford the best routes to the JR Hospital are the 13/X13/23 or the 14/14A. Some services go through central Headington, which is a 10 minute walk from the JR Hospital, such as the 10, 800 or 8/9 services to the Hospital. Bus services from London include the Oxford Tube and the X90.
BY RAIL
Oxford has two train stations. Oxford Station is in the town centre and services from London (Paddington), Birmingham, Edinburgh and many other cites arrive throughout the day; more information is available through the national rail website. To travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital from Oxford Train Station please use the 13/X13/23 or the 14/14A bus services. Alternatively, taxis can be hired outside the station or you can phone and book one of the Oxford City Council approved taxi operators.
Oxford Parkway has a direct service to Bicester and London Marylebone and is located next to the Water Eaton Park and Ride. To travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital, please use the S5 or 700 bus.
By PLANE
The nearest national and international airports are Birmingham and Heathrow, and connections to Oxford can either be made by Train or using services offered by Oxford Bus Company and National Express. Gatwick, Luton and Stansted airports are further away but connections to Oxford are also available.
