Caroline Scott, in
Richard Gibbons' lab, has been awarded a grant by the Biochemical Society to run a workshop entitled ‘Cells: the LEGO of Life’ at
North Leigh Primary School. The aim of the event is to teach the students a few key simple concepts about cells, and to inspire them to think about science as a fun and exciting topic. The funds will be used to purchase some basic lab equipment, including lab coats, goggles and pipettes, to give the students some hands on experience of what scientists do in labs on a day-to-day basis.
Caroline said,'I am delighted to have been awarded this funding and am looking forward to seeing the children doing some really fun experiments in their lab coats and goggles.'
