Congratulations to Adam Mead, who has been appointed Director of Oxford Cancer. Professor Mead joins Professors Mark Middleton and Tim Elliott in leading Oxford’s interdisciplinary cancer research community.

Professor Adam Mead is Professor of Haematology at the University of Oxford, Consultant Haematologist at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Deputy Director of the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine based at the Radcliffe Department of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the genetic and cellular complexity of myeloproliferative neoplasms and related blood cancers, with the aim of developing more precise and effective treatments for patients.   

Speaking about his appointment, Professor Mead said:

The strength of collaboration across the University, our NHS partners, and industry creates enormous opportunities to accelerate progress for patients.
