DPhil Student in Megakaryocyte Biology
I'm a DPhil student in Beth Psaila's lab. My research focus on megkarycoytes, fascinating bone marrow cells that are primarily responsible for platelet production. These cells have the unusual ability to accumulate several copies of their own genomic DNA during maturation, becoming polyploid. In my studies I use a combination of computational and experimental techniques to understand how megakaryocytes regulate their cell cycle during maturation and the consequences of polyploidization on megakaryocyte biology.
