Congratulations to Prof Marella de Bruijn, awarded the title of full professor of Developmental Haematopoiesis in the recent Recognition of Distinction Exercise.

This is a huge achievement and reflects not only her research achievements but also commitment to teaching and ‘good citizenship’.

Prof Marella de Bruijn leads a team investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the generation and maintenance of haemopoietic stem cells (HSCs). Marella is currently the Chair of the MRC WIMM Graduate Studies committee, and Director of Graduate Studies for the Radcliffe Department of Medicine and the Director of the Oxford-MRC Doctoral Training Partnership.
