Biography
Qian is a Post-doctoral Scientist in Computational Biology since July 2017. He is now under the supervision of Dr Bethan Psaila, studying normal and malignant megakaryocyte biology. Prior to his post-doctoral work, he completed his PhD studies in 2016 at the University of Cambridge, where he explored cell and tissue morphology during embryonic development.
Originally trained as an engineer, he holds a 1st class honoured degree from the University of Liverpool and Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University. He also holds an MSc degree with Distinction in Biomedical Engineering from Oxford University. He was the recipient of the prestigious Sloane-Robinson Scholarship in that year.
He is interested in applying computational tools to solving biological problems and developing novel methods in data interpretation using stochastic modelling approaches.
