The skin represents a physical, chemical and immunological barrier that forms a first line defence against pathogens and environmental agents. However, the role of the cutaneous immune network in skin disease is not yet fully understood. During my DPhil in the lab of Prof. Graham Ogg, I studied cutaneous and systemic immune responses in individuals with atopic dermatitis (AD) and investigated functions of human group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2). My current work as part of the Oxford-Janssen Cartography project (lead: Prof Uhlig) focuses on investigating mechanisms underlying skin inflammatory diseases using molecular and cellular multiomics analysis platforms and computational methods with the aim to identify potential novel therapeutic targets.
