Flavia Matos Santo

Research Assistant in Functional Genomics

I am a registered Biomedical Scientist specialising in histopathology and completed an MSc in Cancer and Molecular Pathology and Genomics from the Queen Mary University of London. My project focused on the feasibility study of TET-assisted Pyridine Borane Sequencing (TAPS) for early detection of cancer. This was done in collaboration with the Oxford Molecular Diagnostics Centre and Exact Sciences Innovation.

I have been a research assistant within the Oncology department since 2020 and have joined the Fairfax group in 2022 to study the genetic and epigenetic determinants of inter-individual variation in immune responses, particularly in patients with melanoma.
