Dr. Erdinc Sezgin of the Eggeling Group has been awarded two prestigious fellowships; An EMBO long term Fellowship, and a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship.
Dr. Sezgin completed his PhD in Biophysics at the Biotechnology Centre, Technical University of Dresden in 2012, and has since done further research on lipid-protein interactions in Kai Simons lab at the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany. He joined Dr. Christian Eggeling's NanoImmunology lab in January 2014.
These fellowships will enable him to investigate the role of the lipid environment on immune responses. Working in the NanoImmunology group and the Wolfson Imaging Centre, he will be using biophysical methods and techniques to gain a more complete picture of the immune system.
