The features of Congenital Dyserythropoietic Anaemia (CDA)
Congenital dyserythropoietic anaemia (CDA) is a rare type of inherited anaemia:
- Congenital = present since birth
- Dyserythropoietic = abnormality in shape of red blood cells and their precursors
- Anaemia = too few red blood cells
It is difficult to get a precise estimate of how frequent it is, but it is in the order of 1-5 people for every million inhabitants.
